Klara’s Table is a Copenhagen-based studio working between food and design and run by Klara Marie Jespersen. What started as a creative experiment and outlet gradually evolved into a business, and over time Klara's Table grew from a small online project into the studio it is today.

“Most of my work revolves around cakes, tablescapes and events. What ties it all together is an interest in aesthetics, not simply as something visual, but in how taste, atmosphere, objects, light and people come together to shape a moment. And I think I gravitate towards cakes because they allow me to explore these ideas in a very concentrated form.”

The generous table

“I think a great table makes people want to stay. Of course, I care about the aesthetics, but the most memorable tables are rarely the most elaborate ones. They're the ones that encourage conversation, curiosity, and a sense of ease.

I like when a table feels generous rather than performative. When people reach across it, share things, move things around and make themselves at home. To me, that's when a table has truly succeeded.”

“I'm usually drawn to candlelight first, as I prefer a warm, soft glow over harsh overhead lighting when presenting my work. Which is why I really like dimmable, portable lamps as they mimic those qualities. It brings that softer quality of light into a flexible format.

I love the PH 1/1 Portable Lamp because at the same time, it retains the character of the original design. There's something appealing about seeing such a classic design in a smaller and more flexible format. I admire is the ability to revisit a classic, keeping what's essential, while still allowing it to evolve.”
